Blog post 2: BETTER COMMUNITY: BETTER WORLD PROJECT DEMONSTRATION

Title of the Better World Project

The Write way to Philosophy & Empowering children Through Teaching

This blogpost includes two of the required information for better world project demonstrations: The leadership skills you applied and the recommendations for future EXEC302 students.

During my Better Me: Better World Project, I actively applied several essential leadership skills to ensure its success:

Interpersonal Communication: Interpersonal communication encompasses the dynamic exchange of information, emotions, and ideas between individuals. Through verbal and nonverbal channels, people engage in active listening, express empathy, and navigate personal connections. Effective interpersonal communication involves understanding context, adapting to diverse situations, and fostering meaningful relationships

I communicated effectively with children while assisting them with math. Clear explanations, active listening, and empathy were crucial in building trust and understanding.

Team Building and Collaboration: Team building involves activities and strategies aimed at fostering stronger, cohesive teams within an organization. These exercises encourage collaboration, camaraderie, and trust among group members, leading to improved communication and productivity. Collaboration, on the other hand, is the process of working together to achieve common objectives. It often occurs between individuals with diverse expertise, sparking innovation and better solutions. Effective collaboration relies on shared values, soft skills, and the use of collaborative tools.

Collaborating with colleagues, mentors, and community members allowed me to create a positive impact. I recognized the value of diverse perspectives and leveraged teamwork to achieve shared goals.

Motivation and Inspiration: Motivation is the inner drive that propels us toward our goals. It’s the spark that pushes us to take action, overcome obstacles, and persist even when faced with challenges. Whether it’s a desire for personal growth, achievement, or making a difference, motivation fuels our efforts. Inspiration, on the other hand, comes from external sources—people, experiences, art, or nature. It ignites our creativity, broadens our perspective, and reminds us of the beauty and possibilities in life. Together, motivation and inspiration propel us forward, shaping our choices and defining our paths.

As I walked on the treadmill, read novels, and completed the online philosophy course, I motivated myself by envisioning the positive ripple effect these actions would have on others. Inspiring myself fueled my commitment.

Ethical Decision-Making: Ethical decision-making involves evaluating choices based on moral principles and values. It requires considering the impact of our actions on others, society, and ourselves. By weighing potential consequences, understanding cultural norms, and reflecting on ethical frameworks, individuals make informed decisions aligned with integrity and compassion. Ethical choices contribute to a just and harmonious world.

Completing the philosophy course deepened my understanding of moral principles. I consistently made ethical choices, ensuring alignment with my values and the project’s vision.

Vision and Purpose:

Crafting a vision for a better world and aligning my personal growth with that vision required visionary leadership. I inspired myself by focusing on the greater purpose beyond individual achievements.

In summary, my project allowed me to practice and enhance these leadership skills, reinforcing the idea that effective leadership extends beyond managing tasks—it involves inspiring others and making a positive impact.
